The AMS describes fireballs as meteors that are larger and brighter than normal. The AMS said most of the reports came from the Lone Star State, but several other reports were received from Oklahoma and Louisiana. You can look anywhere in the sky to find meteors. If you have a red light headlamp or flashlight, those can preserve your night vision while also helping to ensure you don't trip and fall in the dark.
